Welcome to the Chronic Pain Support Group

Here’s a quick orientation to help you get settled in

1. Introduction

  • Purpose: This group serves as a safe space where members can share their experiences, offer mutual support, and explore new ways to manage their chronic pain.

  • Confidentiality: All information shared in the group remains confidential within the group. 

2. Meetings

  • Frequency: We meet every Thursday at 7:00 pm via Zoom (unless otherwise notified). 

  • Members will receive an email confirming the date and time two days before the meeting.

3. Group Guidelines

  • Respect: Listen without interrupting, and speak from your experience using “I” statements.

  • Participation: Share as much or as little as you're comfortable with. There's no pressure to speak.

  • Support, don't advise: Offer support rather than unsolicited advice. Sometimes just listening is the best way to help.

4. Getting the Most Out of the Group

  • Be Open: This is a space for honesty. Sharing your experiences can be therapeutic and can also help others.

  • Practice Self-Care: After sharing, take time to care for yourself. It’s important to balance emotional sharing with self-compassion.
